Assessment Resources
Maharishi International University is committed to continuous improvement of student learning and growth, as shown by improved student learning outcomes and by the improved overall learning experience in the classroom.
At MIU, the broadest goal of student learning and growth is achieved when students gain the ability to know anything, do anything, and achieve anything. Faculty, staff, and academic administrators at MIU work together to design and assess learning experiences that promote development toward this goal, while also helping students use their knowledge wisely for to benefit themselves and society.
Goals of the site
- To improve faculty knowledge and skills in assessment by providing information and resources in as simple, organized, and accessible a manner as possible
- To enable academic leaders to assess the status of the assessment initiative (Student Learning Improvement Project, SLIP) by providing easy access to the assessment materials faculty have developed for courses and programs
- To present the big picture of assessment at MIU by enabling faculty to see what other departments and programs are doing with assessment

The Cycle of Continuous Improvement of Student Learning

At every level of the curriculum — in courses, in programs, and in the institution as a whole — the University seeks to identify the most important outcomes for student learning and growth; design learning experiences to achieve these outcomes; engage students in the learning process to achieve the outcomes; assess students’ levels of achievement at all levels; and learn from the data gathered in these assessments how to better assess and achieve the outcomes.
